Robek's: A smoothie a day keeps the doctor away...

132 E Putnam Ave Cos Cob

…or so we tell ourselves to justify the $10 we spend every day at this popular Cos Cob spot. We were wondering where our vacation fund went…okay so maybe no tropical paradise for us this fall, but take the south pacific squeeze or better yet polar pineapple smoothie and at least your taste buds will be whisked away to far off places…

It really does fit perfectly in my cup holder.

Robek's tart yogurt is a great healthy alternative to ice cream

There are a plethora of toppings…I’d choose the shaved almonds for added energy.

Winter is right around the corner but grab a few quarts for your freezer and enjoy!

The Little Chocolate Company: Chic Treats

99 Mill St Greenwich

There is so much to appreciate about this quaint chocolate shop located on the Greenwich/NY border.

It’s not just the fine chocolate that we appreciate, it’s that feeling you get when shop opener Martine Coscia wraps her chocolate art in classic ribbon topped boxes. You would be proud to gift these at your next dinner party.

Okay lets talk flavors here…they have the classics in both milk and dark chocolate but it’s the Peanut Butter & Jelly pieces with creamy rich peanut butter and the perfect layer of grape jelly that make us go weak at the knees.

It's all in the presentation for these sweat treats!

Free Sample...don't mind if i do!
These creme de menthe pieces were refreshing and the perfect after-dinner treat.

What makes these treats extra sweet is the satisfaction in eating a singular piece. I’ve always taken the more is more approach to food but with these Belgian treats…one is enough. Satisfying our taste buds without our waistlines suffering!

You'll always know when the chocolatiers are in by their classic flag flying during store hours.

The Little Chocolate Company has become our local chocolate supplier and it should become yours too!

As their website says:  Chocolate is a way of life!

Frank’s Restaurant: I’ll meet you anytime you want in our Italian Restaurant

23 Putnam Ave Port Chester, NY

We’ve been on the hunt for the perfect pasta Bolognese for some time now and we’ve finally found it! Frank’s is located just over the Greenwich border in Port Chester and the address definitely helps your pocket because this place is priced right.

We often scoff at the prices some of our favorite Greenwich restaurants charge for simple pasta dishes, but at Franks you’ll be all smiles.

Order the shrimp fra diavolo. This dish has the perfect amount of heat and they definitely don't skimp on the shrimp with a whopping 12 pieces topped over perfectly prepared angel hair.

With a fleet of delivery cars parked right outside the place, Frank's also does big delivery business...and they do it quick!

We always thought Frank's was crazy business wise for closing their doors on Sunday's but finally they have answered the large Sunday night dinner crowds prayers and are now serving from 3pm-9pm.

Give your wallet a break from the Greenwich Italian eateries and head over to Port Chester's Franks Pizzeria & Restaurant for a truly satisfying food experience!

Vinny's Lunch: Don't Pass it by

182 N. Main St, Port Chester
We travel into nearby Port Chester all the time. It’s gritt is a nice contrast to Greenwich’s glitz. Vinny’s Lunch has become a standard. This unassuming eatery in downtown Port Chester could easily get lost in its buildings brick façade but it sparked our curiosity. Mom always said to never judge a book by its cover right?

The restaurant itself is composed of a few tables and classic diner seating. We don’t come here for chic décor…what keeps us coming back for more is one thing…

…pancakes.
Light and airy cakes that are ultra syrup absorbent and literally melt in your mouth.

Lets be honest…everything tastes just a little bit better when its not only good…but cheap! Breakfast is supposed to be inexpensive and you’ll come away from Vinny's more satisfied than its overpriced competition.

We are really excited with the development in downtown Port Chester and are looking forward to telling you more about it…Stay tuned!

Crumbs Bake Shop: This Waiting Game Must End

48 W Putnam Ave

If you are like us, it is hard to ignore a brand new bakery in Central Greenwich. Much to our delight, it was the popular gourmet cupcake haven, Crumbs Bake Shop. I can admit to driving a different way home on more than one occasion just to see if  opening day had finally arrived...alas, still no cupcakes in my tummy.

Don't tempt me with surprises Crumbs Bake Shop...all you are is a big tease

sign display at Greenwich Crumbs location
Maybe fixing their sign will be the icing on the cake...

We don’t ask for much…just delicious, creamy, oversized and overindulgent cupcakes. Quit telling us that you will be open in August.

It’s mid October and we’re hungry.

Moe's Burger Joint: The New Kid in Town

1340 East Putnam Ave in Old Greenwich

Who wants to over think lunch? Not us! On a whim, we pulled into Moe’s Burger Joint in Old Greenwich (across from Boston Market). They keep it simple with burgers, hot dogs, fries, etc. Everything is made to order and that is the way we like it.

Hot Dog with Mustard and Relish

If you are looking for an ultra thick, ultra delicious milkshake with dare I say, THE BEST homemade whipped cream, Moe’s is the place!

Vanilla Milkshake with homemade whipped topping
Chili Cheese Fries and Chedder Burger
Paulie urged us to try the homemade macaroni and cheese and we are glad that he did. This rich dish is best when shared but you’ll most likely end up fighting over the last forkful!

Macaroni and Cheese
On our next visit we plan on conquering the patty melt: a hamburger sandwiched between two grilled cheese sandwiches…yes please.

Good burgers, good dogs, good prices. Simply put: Moe’s Burger Joint is damn good!

Cardio Tennis: This guy has got balls

Corner of Greenwich Ave and Arch St
One of these is not like the others: Ralph Lauren, Tory Burch, Michael Kors, and…Cardio Tennis Guy.

I am definitely one for cheesy marketing ploys but this one this takes the cake, or em...ball. You’ve probably seen this guy decked out in his tennis whites showcasing his imaginary tennis ability on the corner of Indian Field Rd and Route 1 as well as Milbank Ave and Route 1. Well it seems he has moved his antics to Greenwich Ave.

Like the old adage says: There’s no such thing as bad publicity…

…Or is there?
